It is 1 of the 5 routes of the Edo period. This route ran along the Kiso Valley and connected Tokyo with Kyoto during the Edo Period
Thank god for providing English version as well :P
I just hope that those bears are not so hungry and ringing bell helps :)
Wish I could stop and appreciate this mini waterfall.. Such a peaceful spot but the journey must be continued

We stopped for tea at Tateba Tea House. It was an inspection station to prevent the prohibited transportation of the 5 important trees of this region. A very nice Japanese man offers hot tea, fermented plums, candies and a warm place to rest. This is how it looks outside of the station. (tea house).
