Kankou Hotel
Read More@ Takayama Kankou Hotel - Tofu, Tsukemono (pickles), Miso Shiru (bean paste soup), Nori (dried laver seaweed), salad. Highlight of this meal is the Hoba miso, fermented soybean paste served with Japanese leeks, onions, shiitake mushrooms.. all placed on Magnolia leaf and grilled on a Shichirin (Clay stove). With a bowl of Japanese rice, heaven !
Yukata Robes (for his and hers were arranged). The Yukata can be worn at home, stroll around the hotel.. You can fold the left side over the right side. Obi should be worn around your waist and fasten into a bow. .. and if the temperature gets too low, you can wear Haori, a thicker cloth, over Yukata.
A multi-purpose room, serving as sitting room, dining room and at night, bedroom. The traditional rooms are floored with Tatami straw matting.. I guess this is a semi-moderned style then. At night, a table gets moved aside and replaced with rolled out Foton (thick mattresses) which normally stored in a closer during the daytime. In the morning, hotel maid will put the Foton back in the closet for you.
